Kotobukiya Hand Unit (1:100 "Normal Hand")
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:59:55 pm »
Full review here.

The short version:
  • They're practically the exact same size as the MG Zaku F2 hands, but a different style.
  • For 600 yen you get a full set of three left hands and three right hands, with 4mm and 5mm ball joints
  • If you're using these with MG Gundam kits, you almost definitely want the "Normal" version and not the "Custom" version - the Custom version hands are slightly smaller, and built for significantly smaller weapon grips like those used on Armored Core kits.
  • Be careful of the ball joints - they may be slightly larger than the ball joints that come with the kit hands. You may have to sand them down if the fit is too tight, or risk splitting an arm seam.

It seems like these things will be great for Master Grades.  I highly recommend them.  Just be sure you buy the 1:100 scale "Normal", not the 1:100 scale "Custom" - the "Custom" hands are smaller, and won't be able to hold most MG weapons.

Thanks for this!  I wish I'd realised these were this good about 3 weeks ago, when I made my last hlj order for a while. :/
