BAKUC 2008 North America (deadline 11/20!!!!)

We should have updated the site information to clarify that. I believe that the trophies were announced and sent (from Bandai?) after the rules had been drafted. And, because there were three trophies (1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze), it would look really weird to distribute those over different modeling classes. Thus, the decision was made to make three top picks in the Expert class.

When you think about it, it wouldn't have looked that weird at all.

Advanced: 2nd
Intermediate: 3rd
Beginner: Honorable mention

Well, that's another way to interpret the trophies, I suppose. As the Grand Prize winner of the Expert class would be the one ultimately chosen to represent North America at the BAKUC Finals, the focus for the trophies was placed on the Expert class. While we are certainly not diminishing the amazing quality of models entered in other classes, we felt that this was the best decision for trophy distribution.

I apologize for any confusion on the part of the BAKUC and we'll certainly endeavor to clarify things better in 2009.

I think we'll find out what the other prizes are within the next couple weeks. As I recall, my brother did'nt get his prize until mid January last time so I suspect it will be the same this time. Gotta remember that we're in the middle of holidays galore.

Im eager to find out about the prizes too. Of course I'm more appeciative for the recognition than the prize but Funaka is a friend of mine and I'm a little envious of that slick little trophy. Oh, and on different note I didn't even get an email about the results, Funaka informed me, was an annoucement only sent to the Grand Winner?
