The mustache is awesome.  You will bow before it.

There is nothing wrong with the show and mustache, watch a little more. The story slow but funny to start off with. Your not going to make a lot of friends just by trashing it. Be constructive with your criticism like triedge027 and explain your self or others will challenge your comments...

Wait a minute - is that directed at me?

Why are you telling me there's nothing wrong with the show and mustache?  Didn't I just say the mustache is awesome?

I don't think that was directed at you. I'm pretty sure it was aimed just south of your previous location.  ;)

so freakin what!!!

Its only man with a well known talent. I don't like his Turn A as other people don't like my designs as well
(designed custom zaku II, custom Dom, and custom Ginn with a pencil )

I simply dislike the gundam.

Fair.  Can't expect you to like something you don't.  :)

I think it is a little silly how people fixate on the mustache, though - as if there's something fundamentally wrong with it, one small factor which, by itself, completely tips the balance, turning Turn-A into a horrible design.  Every time somebody posts some piece of fanart with the 'stache moved to the forehead I just wanna smack 'em - for lack of imagination as much as anything.

As for Syd Mead...  Well, a lot of people have a lot of respect for his work, but I don't think that in and of itself makes a good design.  I like the Turn-A but I don't think it's as good as some of the other designs from the show, particularly the Sumo and WaDom.  I think the Turn-A isn't as strong a design as most of Mead's other "Turn-A" work - with the exception, perhaps, of the Rib and Bandit...  Though I really enjoy the design of the Turn-A legs...

Damn, now I want to build a Turn-A or Sumo or something for Otakon... like I don't have enough projects I'm hoping to finish for then...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that what became the Sumo was actually his original design for the Turn-A itself.

I'm willing to let the 'stache go because Turn A was designed by Syd Mead. Syd freakin' Mead!

Wow, Syd Mead I love that guy. I have a 1/144 Turn-A and Sumo and a good friend of mine has the Turn-X and Harry's custom Sumo (which I wanted) so we will do a build off for model expo in 2010...

That stache is what attracts the head(in some weird way). I don,t the thing cause its boxiness. I like the curves and natural gundam designs and the natural zeon apperance. not some redesigned huminoid polygon. I not into that simplicity.

This is true.  I think it would have made a good hero design, too.

I liked it, had a pretty good story. Started off slow for me but got better as I watched more episodes. That mustache was something else the fist time I saw it. To me it looked awkward for a gundam to have a mustache, but it grew onto me.

It just odd to see metal mustaches anyway. Then, the rest of the body is too sharp. On top of it, thers some peacekeeper piloting it. Its too horrible to watch!!!! The series needs an ALi-Al Sanchez.

Also psychotic to boot.  Try to watch mid-series in Turn A crimson biscuit, since I noticed that your comments are based off the early episodes (little to no action, and slow plot movement.  Mid-Way it gets good though).  Plus doesn't every main Gundam pilot in the series all "peacekeeper"?  Kira, Athrun, Herro, Amuro, Kamille (before he goes wacko), Judea, etc. the list goes on...take note that all pilots of the Gundam series initially does not want to fight (heck, even Loran used the Turn A as a washing machine :D)

I don't know - I mean, I also find the pacifist kick in some of these Gundam pilots real annoying...  The fact that it's turned up so frequently in Gundam's history doesn't make me like it any better, you know?

In Loran's case I think it played out decently - he had good reasons for being sympathetic to both sides of the conflict, and he did fight seriously.  The episodes surrounding the launch of the Will Game come to mind.

Where the pacifist kick really drives me nuts is when the characters take it too far, or their decision to "fight war nonviolently" works out a little too nicely...  Examples of this include 08th MS Team (the direction of that story would have worked a lot better if it had ended as a tragedy, I think.), the second half of Wing or the second half of Seed (and all of Seed Destiny) in which Freedom fought all enemies as if they were not dangerous, and Judau from ZZ, who was one of those characters for whom the world just seemed to revolve around him a lot of the time.

Amuro and Camille - less so.  In both cases they clearly didn't like killing people, and weren't happy about having done it - but they took combat seriously, and shot to kill.  I think Loran falls into this camp.  And do you remember how Amuro ultimately dealt with this sense of conflict?  Toward the end of Gundam his conclusion was basically "this killing doesn't solve anything because we're not killing the right people." - hardly a pacifist stance.

Gundam 00 has thankfully been quite free of this - it's one of the things I really enjoy about that show.  The characters are on the "eliminate all war" kick, but they haven't lost touch with the fact that they've chosen a very violent way to get it done - the fundamental hypocrisy there isn't lost on any of the characters, either.

THere seems to be more episodes than I thought. :( If your right, the series should get better. On my opinion, Kira kicked the crap out of his enimies. Athrun was almost the same but did less damage. Amuro was just takin normal hacks into his enimies but was way too soft. If it wasn't for the "no cockpit hittting" rule, Domon would have killed them all.

I'm geared toward Kira Yamato's form of fighting" Beat the crap out of 'em and if thats to hard Kill that mofo!!!!""
