gundam 08th MS Team, this is the best gundam series ever i seen in my life... In this series, Gundam is not that typical "Godlike" MS, the pilot is just an average person with no newtype powers... More Realistic ! that's what i want to tell about this series

A smart man told me never ask a Gundam fan what is their favorite Gundam series (there is too much of the good stuff to like) I like Star Dust Memories, Zeta, Wing, G Gundam and 00 as a stab in the dark (I like the others too)...

Star Dust Memories is awsome besides the RX78-GP02 and Gato (a manly bad arse team) and the theme music the Winner. It is a nice way to join the storie lines of Gundam and Zeta Gundam plus the starting point of the Titans, Star Dust Memories has many great points too...

Zeta Gundam has every thing going for it you would want after the one year war. Awsome mobile suits including the awsome Hyaku-Shiki with Char (another manly bad arse combo) and who would have thought he would join the old White Base crew in AEUG. Zeon also returns for another serving a must see show...

Wing Gundam takes a dark political run which I like a lot. The charters, Gundam and grunt mobile suits are awsome. The storie, battles and music is great (no wonder it was the first Gundam show to hit the west). This is the Gundam program I ever saw many years ago which made me fall for the hole franchise. Got to see this one too...

G Gundam is over the top but great. It a nice change from waring partys to fair one on one comps. This show has the best Gundam designs ever with them mounted on horses with some bad arse piolts (look out for Marster Asia and the Marster Gundam). Also got to love the shining fingers attack. Got to see this one too...

Gundam 00 for all the same reasons as every body else. Cool mobile suits, better grunts, better fights and awsome fan service. Must see too, this is what I like...

surprisingly (to me) no one said seed or seed destiny. Some of the comments ive seen around the site are of people hating seed/destiny. I love seed and destiny b/c its not all about fighting and BANG IM GONNA KILL U BOOM IM GONNA DESTROY U. in seed/destiny if u actually pay attention and try to get at what they are saying, theres greater meaning. They talk about values, morals, and the series has taught me to rethink things in life.
I also heard that some people dont like the mobile suits/gundams. I think they're all awesome. Sure some of em are a bit overpowered, but isnt that wat Wing Zero, High Nu, and Sazabi are like? (well they certainly dont have DRAGOON system)
Another one is that they think main character Kira Yamato sux... I know this is based on my own personal bias, but he is my favorite character/ hero of all time. Sure he's kinda rigged/godly but even winners lose (just watch GSD). It is sort of unfair to have him on ur side of a Gundam fight, but isn't that what Amuro Ray, Heero, and Char are like? arent they good ms pilots too? I like him not becuz he godly ms pilot, i like him becuz i can relate to him, he has truly quesioned life and how humans treat others.  I think he has more depth to him than any other character in any other gundam series.
So please, stop talking trash about SEED and GSD if you cant understand the complexity and inner meaning in the series. Just respect it for the way it is and leave it at that.

Seriously? Have you ever watched another Gundam series (Aside from G Gundam)? Mobile Suit Gundam was epic, and had more back story than any other mech series put together... And Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, all the way to Victory Gundam just back and make that story grow. Everything from who invented the technology in the series to fast food joints in the space colonys are explained.

Well, I personally don't like the designs in SEED and SEED-Destiny because they are cheap knockoffs of older designs. For example, the Destroy Gundam - Psycho and Psycho Mk.II. However, I don't care for Gundam Wing, for the reason you stated. When gundam was founded it was the first 'Real Robot.' series, It strived for as much realism as possible, but for a while now that has been thrown out the window, and it's becoming very super robot, only to please hollywood brainwashed fans who just want action. Also, Gundam Seed is notorious for battle scenes where they use the same exact clips more than once. As for the Nu Gundam, and Sazabi, they where not all powerful, they where just more advanced in technology, and they had exceptional pilots who had been in mobile suits for a large portion of their lives. Amuro was 16 when he got into the cockpit of the RX-78, 0079. 0093, 15 years later, he was 31, piloting the Nu. All the time in between, he had been piloting. And as for the Dragoon system comment... The Pshycommu System used for Universal Century funnels was far superior. Funnels (The Dragoon equivalent in UC era) are mind controlled, and act on the whim of the user, whereas dragoons are independent AI systems, that focus on computer programs. I think they lost that one :P

All this being said, what complexity and inner meaning of the series? Sure they got some neat and flashy things, but that is about it. Gundam Seed is just Neat and Flashy, with a mediocre story could be thought up by anyone.

But in the end, these are just my opinions. XD I did watch Gundam Seed, and watched half of Seed destiny, and did enjoy aspects of them. But I didn't like the characters, too many mono-toned personalities, and some of the mech designs where neat, but I got tired of dealing with the lazy animators, and the mediocre story.

Allow me to pre-emptively interject: Keep it friendly, guys  ;D

Healthy debate is all fine and good--and I don't want to discourage it--just don't let it degenerate into flames. Carry on.

So please, stop talking trash about SEED and GSD if you cant understand the complexity and inner meaning in the series. Just respect it for the way it is and leave it at that.

It's also probably worth noting that no one said a bad word about Seed or GSD until you said something about trashing it.  ;)

i agree seed is almost like an Abomination to the Gundam world
i mean 1st of all the hero is not man enough to pilot the gundam
there was concern to the lives of some people but not to others
the last eps the earth army took a huge beating because they
wanted to help the zaf crap... what the hell
i saw the devastation in 0083 and i was furious but revenge came even
that it wasn't a very good revenge but at least they tried
but seed i mean bah what was that i mean is that even a war
its like gay people in war don't kill him I'm too gay
war is serious people die and people fight like hell to survive
but seed was nothing near a real war it was some gay writer trying
to make a stupid point
you don't stop in war and ask your self what am i doing or who should i help
thats way the 1st gundam is way way better

I liked most UC series/movies I've seen except for Gundam 0080 (It wasn't so bad, it's just that the synthesizer music ruined it a bit). I also like Gundam 00 since that series has a a good story and G00 has a pretty high deathcount for the main crew as of the latest episode that aired a couple of hours ago.

In the first 18 episodes or something the Gundams are overpowered, but the enemies later get powerful mobilesuits that can fight on par with Gundams.

hmm after reading some of the threads i agree with some of the replys yet i disagree with others.
agar heavenly, i do agree with the fact that animators are lazy, i noticed the reusal of the same things a bit. I have also seen Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, as well as read the mechanics manual for Char's Counterattack (so i know wat fin funnels are) the reason i cant watch is i cant get videos of many other gundam series around her after all i am a high school student living in retarded illinois. I didn't like endless waltz cuz heero got dumb and decided to suicide his gundam for dramatic effect... despite all your arguments, i still like SEED and GSD, dont take that as ur a bad persuader, I think its just that i can relate to the main character Kira, hes different than the rest of the world, natural and coordinator.
Devilman1, I dont know wat u were thinking, but u like lots of death??? try fighting a war not watching one. ive never fought in one but my grandpa did. Kira just doesnt wanna fight thats y he doesnt wanna pilot the gundam, he only pilots as a last resort. I dont know about ur point of war, but is fighting people in large scale battles a war?? cuz to me it is. if someone shoots u, u shoot back. Also, if you dont think about who u should be fighting then u might end up fighting against those you love.
Im probably gonna start watching gundam 00 it looks good!  :) :) :)
