Ungraded 1/100 ZGMF-X56S/b Sword Impulse Gundam
« on: August 24, 2008, 01:52:54 pm »
This is basically the only kit I have that is even remotely close to completion.
No major painting was done, only the eyes and yellow triangles/"V" on chest. I still have to paint and weather the two "Excalibur" Anti-Ship Swords as well. Sorry for the slightly unfocused pictures, my camera is a bit of a failure. I also need to apply some more topcoats, in order to blend in the edges of the stickers and a final flat topcoat to finish it up. In addition, the weathering is only about 80% complete, I still need to apply more drybrushing and edge damages.
Any and all suggestions/C + C are welcome.

It looks a lil over done or like its a 3D modeling for a Gundam game. Not saying its a bad thing, it is still any eye opener and looks pretty sweet to boot.

What did you use for your weathering?

Well first off, I applied a flat coat of future floor acrylic, then came a heavy wash of black drawing ink (it was an experiment). After the ink dried a bit, i wiped off the excess from the center of the parts/panels. When that was done, I applied another flat coat, then proceeded to drybrush. However, I used metallic silver for any darker colored parts, with white for the red parts. I still have to drybrush some more white over the white parts.

The edge damages were done with my xacto-knife, and that part took quite a while...my blade isnt so sharp anymore.

Thanks for the reply!

Cool, I'll have to try that out sometime. It looks almost like its out of a Gundam game! (or that transformers game based off the armada series)
