Panel lining question

is there any real difference between using a pen for panel lining vs using a wash?

pen is ok... but sometimes got limit for it - you cant go thru heavy details parts like detail carving.... its only good for straight edge and simple curve - i always go for enamel lining.... you can see this thru my tutorial here in this forum - cheers....  ;)
