Need advice on painting
« on: May 13, 2010, 05:54:14 am »
Hi everybody, I just bought my NG 1/100 Exia almost 1 month ago... And I`m actually disappointed at the color, very boring...

Just about 3 days ago, I found a video that transforming a BL Sinanju to looks like a Titanium Finish Sinanju (but the shine isn`t like titanium :D)

The work will need a mithril silver color, and a tamiya acrylic paint clear red, the trick is to paint the parts first with mithril silver, and then paint it with clear red... and the results is real awesome for a BL...

and now, I need advices, can you tell me which is the best to paint my exia? I created a sets of Colored Exia, and the color itself is a theme from another gundam, such as SF Extra finish, etc...

Please the advice!! ^.^

A modeler here did something like that with a Sazabi by putting clear green over chrome silver. Go for it.

I was wondering are you planning or using an air brush or hand painting it. If you have an air brush i suggest looking at alclad2 brand paints they have some really nice metal colors.
in battle the winner isn't always decided by who has the better strategy, but but who has the bigger gun and most ammo.

okay then, I`ll try my best... :)
but i heard that mithril silver is rare... :(
is there any replacement for that? I mean a shiny silver?

I`ll try hand painting, I can`t afford airbrush btw... :)

okay, the Marasai is great, yeah, what I want is to be glossy like that, but apparently, I`m still stuck on what color I`ll paint... >.<

Can you give me a Mithril Silver look-alike paint? I mean the color is nearly resemble that mithril silver, so I can paint the GN Blades with silver...

And so, Can you tell what gold color used on akatsuki is? Is it Silver + Clear Yellow, or silver + titanium gold??
