Tonight I did more of the upgrades making the frame super huge!  hehe.  bulky looking, but ultimately powerful, increased thrust output, requiring rutters, larger knee stuffs, which will have multiple plasma emittors for knee blades, and some added rutter fins, which really are just deco.  The big knee part slides right over the knee like I intended, for easy assembly.  I still have many things to do and detail up, but it's looking good to me.  The knee still needs lots of detail, but making the part fit and well but not too snugly was a bit of work.  I still need to redo the basic hip skirts of the freya so the wyrd skirts look like an upgrade.  hehe.  Oh I still need to add the heavy machine guns to the hip skirts, plasma sword holder, and thruster vanes.  I might prime this again soon to eliminate the mottling.  For a better idea of where to go.  Well I'm tired and happy. Enjoy.

Tonight I wasn't really feeling well, but I decided to go and do something, there is so much that I feel I need to take advantage of what time I have.  So I worked some on the slip on knee upgrade, giving it a thruster and a plasma vent for plasma bladed knee.  I also added some of the little detail parts I've casted from other neat kits, and added them where I thought they were needed.  I could have made them from scratch meself now, but since I had them I thought to make use of them and the mold.  I also took a bazillion crappy photos.  Forgive me and I hope together they show the picture of the progress.  Enjoy.

Thanks bro good to see ya again.  I don't post as much around here lately, but I'm workin on posting more frequently.  Well on to my post for today.

Tonight I did the elbow cannon, which I thought would be a good idea to make removable, so I put magnets in it and the elbow to make it stay on.  This way I can add other attachments to the elbow later like big blades or bigger or smaller guns.  Probably not smaller.  Anyway I can also make a magnetic gun handle later and have the elbow gun come off and attach to the handle and make  a regular hand held rifle.  Well I'm probably done building for tonight.  Enjoy.

Tonight I decided to start on redoing the shin parts by doing the rear shin or rear ankle armor, and making the upgrade rear calf thruster.  The upgrade is supposed to be obviously more powerful and less blocky, with a taller look to it.  I will do the front shin soon.  I'm tired so I apologize for my lack of explanation, but I hope you enjoy.

Tonight I finished the basic shape for the front of the shin.  I also extended the hip skirt out some and added a little detail.  I will add more later, but I need to make sure that it is easily castable.  I really like the flow of it all now, but it just really shows how much work the chest, crotch, and the other unfinished parts need.  The add on parts are going well though.  I still need to cement the basic parts, meaning choose which parts are definitely going to show up first, before the upgrades.  And I also need to make the upgraded head fins and details.  I still dunno if I'll add a horn or not.  Well for another night of building, time for sleep.  Enjoy.

Last night I cleaned up some of the casted parts like the wing laser, the hip skirt, the elbow.  Since I didn't pressure cast them as I haven't made a chamber yet, I just did simple one part molds.  More clean up work, but reliable for less bubbling.  I still need to clean up a lot.  Well anyway I decided the large removable leg armor is just to make the Freya high mobility, and to add a large plasma vent to make the knee a large plasma blade.  Since the wings have unfolding lasers, and the elbows have large guns, and maybe the head will have vulcans, I don' know if I'll give the freya a hand held weapon besides plasma swords.  I've not yet really liked any ideas I had for weapons for this mecha as of yet, even the Lance is a little much.  I might make a laser rifle of sorts that I think I have a design for, but maybe not too.  This unit would look badass just holding two plasma swords with it's head unit bowed.  Oh I also sealed up the chest, decided that the ability for the chest to open wasn't necessarily worth it looking stupid.  hehe.  So sealed up it is, and now I can clean up all the seams.  The only thing that is left to be crafted is the finishing of the backpack, and the butt skirt armor.  I just need to spend a day on them.  I should be able to paint it this coming monday through thursday.  Well for now enjoy.

My plan for this coming week is to add some triple missile launchers to the front of the hip skirts, and to add thin turbines to the sides.  The only other weapons will be a pair of long hilted plasma swords that will be stored on the rear skirt armor probably magnetically.  I was gonna make a rifle, but after a forum discussion with a like minded builder on hobbyfanatics, I decided on just the plasma swords.  Most of the weapons are built on the mecha and it is mainly a short range fighter.  The large High Mobility leg add ons have increased vertical outputs, and large plasma vents for knee blades, the elbows have heavy machine guns, the head will have four vulcans if I can drill them straight, the wings have two large Laywaster lasers, and the crotch armor might have some small machine guns as well.  Giving more guns might be overkill.  The premise is the mecha is really a short range melee type with crazy agility, but firepower when needed.  The laywasters will have a charge up and cool down period, and the elbow machine guns although long range enough to be useful still will have limited magazines.  The plasma melee weapons will be the weapon of choice.  Here are my little doodlysketches of this weeks work to come. As always c&c welcome.

Oh I added a couple things.  Since I decided to seal the opening cockpit hatch in favor of a cool looking sealed one I need to scribe in panel lines where the hatch will be animated to open.  I also am gonna add a couple crotch light machine guns like on the gelbrecht.  I could add them to the cockpit chest area, but I always thought that was a flaw in the design as if it backfires or jams or overheats the pilot is more likely to die.  Well I will hopefully get a chance to make this this week.

Ok one more update as I thought of it and had to update my doodlysketch.  It was another chance to type out the word doodlysketch, and thus was not to be missed.  Here I decided to add a couple more intakes, one for the rear skirt thrusters, and two each for each High Mobility knee add on part.  I think it adds a lot to the detailing.

Well tonight I worked on exactly what I planned on working on, and for the most part, got it all done except the missiles.  I know it's the first thing I wanted to do but I still need to cast some missile heads, and I figure it'll be a good project for the oomoo silicone I just bought.  I figure I was reading the specs on this type of silicone and I think it's a little flimsy for what I use it for, and after I get or make a pressure chamber for real castings, I will go back to moldmax 20.  I like that stuff.  Anywho I added the intakes to the High Mobility Leg Add ons, I added the turbines to the hip skirts, I added an intake to the underside of the crotch armor, and I added the frame for the cockpit door.  I need to clean up a bunch of stuff tomorrow, but I am pretty happy at how this is looking.  I think I will add some neat details to the wing units tomorrow.  And the missiles and build the beam saber hilt to cast.  I need to make the crotch vulcans too, along with drill the four head vulcans, although I might try it on a spare casting of the head to make sure it turns out.  Well for tonight enjoy!

Ok Kuro this goes out to you homie. The head vulcans were your idea, and lemmetellya those were hard to get right. I also added the crotch vulcans, and started on the backpack. I got some action bases but I had to make a custom plexiglass clip to hold the mecha. The largest one it came with didnt reach to cup where the legs attach. Sorry for the similar pictures, I don't know which ones show the details the best. Enjoy!
