Hi guys,
On the 4th of December me and a few mates are going to Japan for a Holiday with a fortnight alone in Tokyo. Of corse a fair amount of time will be spent in Akiba (and who wouldn't). Now I already know about Tsukumo Robot Kingdom near the train station and the Bandai Museum in Chiba..
What I'm after is are there any interesting Gundam or mech modeling places to visit. I hear there are hidden store who sells after market parts only, kits by the sprue, vintage models and g-kits. If anybody has any info on this or special events in between 16th of December to 3 January in Tokyo like a model expo...
Thanks,
Hi, nice to know Ur visiting Japan. But unfortunately, there are no big events being held at those dates on the big spots (Makuhari Messe & Tokyo Big sight). But I can tell you (or show U

) the places to go in Tokyo if U wanna look for some kits. I usually spent my times in Yodobashi Camera Akiba for new discounted items, they also have tools from all kinds of hobby. If I wanna go for second hand/ rare/ vintage kits, I go to Liberty shop (there are three in Akiba) or to Mandarake (it's a chain of vintage hobby stuffs, but the biggest ones are in Akiba & Nakano). If I'm looking for spare parts for kitbash & stuffs, I go to Yellow Submarine, they sell leftover kit parts from local modellers who don't use them.
If those three places don't satisfy U, check this out.
http://geraet040.web.infoseek.co.jp/tokyo_hobby_shops/#shop_listI've never been to all those shops actually, only have them for reference, especially for fellow modellers who wanna visit Tokyo. Let me know the update on Ur visit, ok.
